Chicks can Kick Butt Too!!!

Some time ago, a girl I was dating at the time would lovingly, caringly, wonderfully go with me to all kinds of martial arts, sci-fi movies with action and general kick but movies.  I always thought to myself how wonderful of her, how caring that she would sacrifice herself and her fun to see an action movie for my sake.   After a while, however, I slowly realized, with a combination of disappointment and yet respect and awe, that she actually wasn’t going to these movies for my sake, but that in fact she was totally into them.   It was at this moment that a profound insight took over my consciousness, that the world is wrong, that the film industry is wrong, and that women can really get into action flicks.  How unfair this industry has been all this time!!

The film industry is under the strong belief that women are not particularly interested in action, but I - and therefore Showflicks -  does not believe this is the case at all.    Women like Antje Traue who played the kick butt Nadia in Pandorum, Anne Parilaud in La Femme Nikita or Sigourney Weaver in Alien are, I believe, not only watched by men, but women too, who genuinely enjoy action more than most think.  And as for guys, well, no problem with action and no problem with women in film, so it would seem to be all good all around.
